Teresa M. Deer, Ph.D., ABPP-CN
Dr. Teresa Deer earned her board certification in Clinical Neuropsychology through the American Board of Professional Psychology. Dr. Deer grew up in Michigan, earned her undergraduate degree at Hope College, and her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Finch University of Health Services/The Chicago Medical School, now known as Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. She completed a two-year post-doctoral residency in neuropsychology at the Medical College of Wisconsin. She is licensed in both Illinois and Wisconsin. Dr. Deer enjoys the diversity of adult patients she sees in private practice, but is particularly fond of working with those who have memory loss, dementia, traumatic brain injury, or attention deficit disorder. She also conducts independent medical and worker’s compensation evaluations and is available to consult on forensic cases with neurocognitive components.
Dr. Deer is active in the neuropsychology community, having served in some capacity since 2000. She is currently member at large (elected) for the Society of Clinical Neuropsychology (division 40 of the American Psychological Association), and past chair (2015-2016, last half of 2018) of the Professional Affairs and Information Committee (PAIC) of the National Academy of Neuropsychology (NAN). She also served as a member of the PAIC from 2000-2014, and 2017-2018. Dr. Deer is a member of the American Psychological Association, the American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology, and the Illinois Psychological Association. She has presented at NAN conferences on practice and billing-related issues such as negotiating fee schedules with insurers and understanding fee-for-performance billing structures such as PQRS. She continues to maintain professional connections with insurance company professionals in order to facilitate and encourage timely access to neuropsychology services for patients and consistently correct claims processing and reimbursement for neuropsychology providers.
When not working, Dr. Deer enjoys spending time with her husband and sons, biking, hiking, reading, singing, attending musicals, crafting, and traveling. She and her family are active in their church, and Dr. Deer considers it a great privilege to serve those in her community with the gifts and talents given to her. June A. Restrepo, Ph.D., ABPP-CN
Dr. Restrepo is a licensed clinical psychologist and board-certified clinical neuropsychologist. A native of Illinois, she completed undergraduate degrees in English Literature and Psychology at the University of Illinois before completing her graduate training in Clinical Psychology at the University of Cincinnati. She completed her post-doctoral residency in Neuropsychology at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Dr. Restrepo has experience working with a broad range of populations with cognitive complaints stemming from neurologic, medical, or psychiatric causes. Specific clinical interests include traumatic brain injury, chronic pain, and dementia. She is an active member of national neuropsychology associations and has been privileged to work at Neuropsychological Consultants since 2010. Her family makes their home in the Milwaukee area, where they are active in their church, in their garden, and in any good non-fiction books.
